You Cannot Escape the Merman - Chapter 1

1. The Sea That Swallows

"Ah, hih, hiik!"

An ice-cold rod sliced through her burning hot inner walls. Would it have been better if it had been hot instead?

Jahyun gripped the sheets. Theodore chuckled and began rubbing her ¢lit with his cold fingers.

"Hwaaah!"

Her body and mind were scalding, driving her mad. But the ¢ock and the fingers rubbing her ¢lit were freezing, which made her head spin.

It was utter chaos, like an overload crashing down on her. As she threw her head back and gasped, a laugh sounded above her, followed by his co¢k driving in deep.

"Hih, hiii, ugh."

All the strength drained from her body of its own accord. The massive rod—too enormous to even call a co¢k—crushed her entire inner wall, and she felt like she might die. She thrashed like a fish pierced by a harpoon, and he rubbed her ¢lit even harder.

"Hnnngh, ugh, uhn, ah, ahhhh!"

Her ¢lit was rubbed and ground without mercy. Each time, Jahyun's inner walls clamped down fiercely on the cold co¢k, triggering the urge to climax. She'd been crying and begging for him to stop for so long, yet now she was gripping his co¢k as if telling him not to pull out—it was almost laughable. The more he rubbed her ¢lit, the wetter she became down below.

"Ah, aah!"

She couldn't have been taking him for that long, yet her toes were already trembling uncontrollably. It was the absolute limit. She tried to compose her breathing somehow, but it was utterly useless. Feeling she couldn't take any more, she threw her arms around his neck to stop him from rubbing her ¢lit.

She'd meant to make him stop—but instead, his co¢k drove in impossibly deep. She squirted right then and there.

"Hiii, sto, it."

The strength in her arms gave out completely. Theodore looked down to see Jahyun trembling, her face a complete mess. Glancing down, he saw she was drenched between her legs. She came so easily and so hard that in a waterless situation, he could probably just bury his face in her ¢unt. Smiling faintly, Theodore reached down and pressed on her bulging lower belly.

"Ah, ghk, ugh, ughhh!"

Tormented from both inside and out, tears welled thick in Jahyun's eyes. Saliva dripped from her gaping mouth, so he pressed down harder with his fist.

"Hngh. Ugh, uuuuhn!"

Perhaps it was too much for her first time being opened up. Jahyun's eyes rolled back as she began to weep pitifully.

But she probably didn't realize that such a sight only excited males even more. The co¢k filling her inner walls began to grow larger. Jahyun stared at him with disbelief in her eyes—only to be thrown right back into the throes of pleasure.

"Hih, hiik, ah, ugh, hnngh, ah!"

He pounded into her like hammering a nail, her legs draped over his shoulders swaying with each thrust.

The cold co¢k showed no sign of warming up. It was horrifying—how it drew out such burning sensations, making her taste endless pleasure.

"Hiiiiik!"

Jahyun clamped down tightly around him and climaxed once more. Do humans always feel this intensely? He wasn't sure, but if their bodies were this compatible, they could spend the rest of their lives together. Theodore gazed at her, wrecked by pleasure, and drove his co¢k in even harder. Gathering her legs together and thrusting in deep felt incredible.

"Hh, haah, ugh, hih!"

Jahyun couldn't even let out proper moans, her body trembling helplessly. And yet she squeezed his co¢k so wonderfully with every little twitch that Theodore couldn't hold back either and spilled his seed. Merfolk usually fertilize externally, but since she was human, there was no issue with adjusting the method of ejaculation.

Still, it must have been a bit cold—he felt her body shivering. He raised his hand and squeezed her nippl€s, drawing a shrill moan from her.

"Cute."

He meant it. She was as delicious as he'd waited for, and it made him smile.

Jahyun felt his co¢k sliding out of her and slowly closed her eyes.

---

The world, which had carelessly wasted its resources without a second thought, was ruined one day.

It wasn't an invasion from space. It wasn't an ice age, nor a volcanic eruption. No meteor had fallen.

It was the sea. Beings that had lived beneath the ocean revealed themselves.

Apart from their ears and slightly larger builds, they looked much like humans. They introduced themselves as merfolk. Unlike in media depictions, they had no tails—but they breathed underwater, so it was true.

While everyone stood frozen in shock at the sudden invasion, they spoke:

[We have watched over you, honoring the promise with our ancestors. But we can no longer forgive you humans for defiling this world.]

No sooner had the words finished than calamity struck the entire globe. Tsunamis ravaged every corner of the world, and continents were swallowed by water. It didn't take long for every continent to become islands.

Now, fifty years later, humans have become the ruled class. Ordinary humans cannot breathe underwater, making defeat inevitable—a natural consequence. Those who had defiled the world with their own greed lost their brilliant legacy.

'Never go to the beach or the sea alone.'

It was one of the phrases every child born on the islands heard endlessly as they grew up.

Ships without a merman's permission were judged and swallowed into the sea. Even swimming lightly was forbidden. Catching fish was forbidden too.

Jahyun had seen countless people go to the sea alone and never return. The adults said they must have been swallowed by the ocean.

That meant that when the island ran out of medicinal herbs, there was no choice but to wait for the next supply shipment.

That was exactly why Jahyun had climbed the mountain on the island. On the island where she lived, there was a mountain whose treacherous cliffs met the deep sea. Various medicinal herbs grew there, and she often relied on them when supplies ran low. It was a place people rarely visited due to the rough terrain—but she had to go.

"The fever-reducing herb cluster should still be there..."

Lately, there had been many sick people on the island. She'd used the medical supplies they'd received for them, but now everything was gone. To make matters worse, her uncle had also fallen ill. If his fever didn't come down, his life could be in danger. Jahyun couldn't lose her only family.

If her uncle passed away, she—barely an adult now—might be sold off. The island neighbors were kind when her uncle was around, but if she were alone, she couldn't trust them.

"Huff, ugh... almost there."

She'd climbed the mountain early in the morning, but by the time she arrived, the sunset was already glowing. She'd taken it slow to conserve energy.

On top of that, the path had felt strange today—she'd lost her way and only just found it. Quickly scanning the area, she spotted a cluster of herbs near the cliff's edge. To avoid damaging them with tongs, she had to crawl.

She tied an old rope around her waist and secured it to a tree. Then, carefully beginning to crawl forward, her heart pounded like mad.

Beneath her stretched the endless sea. Jahyun fixed her eyes only on the herbs. As she inched forward, she could hear the waves crashing fiercely.

Just a little more, just a little—and the moment she grabbed a handful of herbs, she let out a sigh of relief.

Then came a cracking sound, and the ground gave way beneath her. The cliff, weathered by wind and rain, had finally given out.

"Eek, ah, ugh!"

If she hadn't tied herself securely, she'd have fallen with the ground and been swallowed by the sea. The taut rope squeezed her chest and abdomen painfully. She wondered if she'd cracked a rib or damaged an organ. Still, she was proud she hadn't let go of the herbs. Jahyun quickly stuffed them into her bag, then slowly turned her body around. She'd tied the rope well—all she had to do was hold on and climb back up.

It wasn't like she hadn't climbed ropes countless times since childhood. She could do this. She could do this. Muttering endlessly, she grabbed the rope with her scraped hands and began to climb.

She couldn't die. If she died suddenly, what would happen to her uncle? Besides, she hadn't told anyone she was climbing the mountain. If word spread that her uncle was sick, someone might try to sell her off.

"Hngh, hnngh."

Tears poured down from the fear overwhelming her. As she bit her lip and climbed, a strange sound reached her ears. It unsettled her, so she moved her hands faster. Just a little more, just a little more. The moment she finally grabbed the edge of the cliff, her body gave way. The rope had snapped.

Jahyun's body began to plummet toward the sea. From this height, she'd surely die—that thought flashed through her mind. If only one part of her was damaged, she might have a chance of survival.

Fortunately, the shore wasn't far. If she could swim there somehow, she might live.

She twisted her flailing body midair, pressed her legs together, and pinched her nose. Then, squeezing her eyes shut, an immense cold engulfed her.

She thought she'd survive if she just kept her wits about her, but her body kept sinking endlessly. Forcing her eyes open, she looked around—the depth was such that she couldn't see even an inch ahead. Struggling not to swallow the seawater pressing in, she checked that her bag was still with her.

Then, thrashing, she made her way back to the surface. In the process, she gulped down so much seawater that it stung everywhere.

"Hnngh, ugh, ugh! Ugh!"

On top of that, the impact from the fall must have been severe—her whole body throbbed even in the freezing water. As she surfaced above the relentless waves and looked around, she spotted a shore some distance away. She swam toward it, struggling against the currents, only to be swallowed by a wave. She couldn't breathe properly, and saltwater filled her mouth.

Fear of death consumed her mind. She tried to relax her body, but every wave that crashed over her only scrambled her thoughts further.

The moment she surfaced again, something grabbed her ankle with a fierce grip.

That was the last thing Jahyun remembered.
